And it’s hello again from him: Two Ronnies reunited as bronze statue of Barker is unveiled

Five years after the death of Ronnie Barker The Two Ronnies were reunited yesterday.

Ronnie Corbett was among the guests at the unveiling of a life-size bronze statue of the comedian by his widow Joy.

The tribute stands in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, the town where Porridge star began his acting career more than 60 years ago.

The two Ronnies: Barker and Corbett first met in 1963, when Corbett was a barman at the Buckstone Club near Haymarket Theatre

Internationally-acclaimed sculptor Martin Jennings depicted Barker as prison inmate Norman Stanley Fletcher from the classic 1970s series Porridge.

The statue of Barker, who died in 2005, is sitting on a stone bench with his arms crossed and looking up at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, which opens next month.
