Captain Beaky and Band play the Royal Albert Hall

Join Timid Toad, Reckless Rat, Artful Owl and Batty Bat for a festive evening with surprise special guests in aid of UNICEF.

The bravest animals in the land
Are Captain Beaky and his band
That’s Timid Toad, Reckless Rat,
Artful Owl and Batty Bat
March through the woodland
Singing songs
That tell how they have righted wrongs

Captain Beaky & His Band is the cover title of two fantastic albums of poetry by Jeremy Lloyd, set to music by Jim Parker and recited by British celebrities. First released in 1977, a generation of children and parents enjoyed the adventures of Timid Toad, Reckless Rat and many more through radio, tv shows and a West End Musical as well as performances by New York City Ballet.

The Royal Albert Hall now presents a festive treat with The Wonderful World of Captain Beaky and His Band. Introduced by Sir Roger Moore, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, the evening features a host of special celebrity guests recounting these magical poems with musical interludes and performances.
