The Great Masters must have been turning in their graves — for a look at three lingerie models who went prancing through one of Paris’ most famous museums in skimpy skivvies.
The Musee d’Orsay, where the masterpieces of Renoir and Van Gogh hang, is threatening legal action against the French underwear company Etam — which had three models rip off their trench coats mid-gallery as part of a “flash flash” ad campaign.
In the video ad, the models wearing stiletto heels and coats enter the gallery virtually unnoticed.
They stop to gaze at an impressionist painting but within a moment are near-nude and running through rooms of masterpieces, smiling and giggling as stunned observers stare or struggle not to look.
The Musee d’Orsay reportedly had no clue the publicity ploy was going to happen, and it has a strict policy of no filming without authorization.
