A new breed of television is set to take the US by storm following the launch of the first channel for dogs.
DogTV is already a success as a cable channel in San Diego and is now set to be launched nationwide.
Programmes have been designed to keep bored canines relaxed, stimulated and entertained while owners are at work.
They are filmed from a dog’s point of view and feature specifically designed images, sounds and music specifically written for dogs.
San Diego pet owner Mary Catania claims her French bulldog Bleu is a huge fan of DogTV.
“I always feel guilty leaving him alone all day when I’m at work,” she said. “Anything that makes him happy makes me happy.
“He will, you know, jump up on the TV console and try and get into the television.”
