Optical Aleutians and the Apophenia Effect

Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data. The term was coined in 1958 by Klaus Conrad who defined it as the “unmotivated seeing of connections” accompanied by a “specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness”…

Optical Illusion

Pareidolia is a type of apophenia involving the finding of images or sounds in random stimuli. For example, hearing a ringing phone whilst taking a shower. The noise produced by the running water gives a random background from which the patterned sound of a ringing phone might be ‘produced’.

Kluchevskoy Volcano

Kluchevskoy is the biggest alive volcano in Eurasia – 4,750m over the sea level. It has a perfect, incredibly beautiful cone. Together with Kamen (Stone), Bezymyanny (Unnamed), Plosky (Flat) Tolbachik it forms the Kluchevskaya group of volcanoes. The volcano is about 8,000 years old.

Eurasia’s highest volcano, the Klyuchevskoy, on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia’s Far East, has shown signs of intensified activity throwing red-hot rocks to a height of 100 meters (about 330 feet).  The Klyuchevskoy, which lies 220 miles north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, is one of the largest active volcanoes in the world and reaches an altitude of 15,584 feet. It erupts about every 2 years.

Thirteen Horribly weird facts about Women

It is generally believed that the difference between men and women is enormous. Women and men differ in almost every imaginable aspect of human life, especially when it comes to psychology.

Women will never understand why footballers stand in a line with their hands crossed before a penalty kick during a match. In addition, women never shudder when a male character gets kicked in the groin in a movie.

Bottoms up for beer bathers

Punjapit HQ need one of these….

Beer lovers are being given the chance to take the plunge in a health spa pool – filled with 42,000 pints of lager.

Spa bosses in Starkenberg, Austria, claim that beer can treat skin conditions, blood circulation and can even help cure wounds.

The spa – part of a local brewery – contains seven 13ft long pools filled with beer which you can even ask to be served chilled or heated.

Bathers can try drinking the bathwater but head barman Markus Amann, 23, said: “I’d rather swim than swallow, as we have enough cold beer on tap at the bars next to the pools.
