Scientists Develop Algorithm For The Perfect Bra

Two former Microsoft engineers have developed an algorithm* for building the perfect bra.

This marriage of technology and underwear has resulted in a new online lingerie business, known as True & Co.

Aarthi Ramamurthy and Michelle Lam from San Fransciso developed the techy solution to finally solve the conundrum of a woman’s support, lift and comfort.

The system will see a shopper go through a simple multi-choice Q&A on the brand’s website, at the end of which the mythic algorithm spits out a selection of bras designed precisely for the shopper’s size.

The process will cost $45 at first – and that will get you a selection of bras to try on at home. If you don’t like them you can send them to and get a full refund.

The details of the algorithm itself remain frustratingly few, however – and it remains to be seen if this algorithm will prove as lucrative as the one which powers Google.

Then again, if this invention does solve the thorny issue of selecting a decent bra, we’re sure the world will be grateful in the form of dollars and cents.

Lolly combines absinthe and Holy water

Vice Lolly /Ext

The makers of controversial breast milk ice cream have come up with a new ‘bad taste’ flavour – a mixture of Holy water and absinthe.

The gun-shaped Vice Lolly is made up of one part 80% alcohol absinthe and three parts Holy water from Lourdes.

The green lollipop costs a staggering £18.58 and is on sale at The Icecreamists shop in London’s Covent Garden.

The price is after the year 1858 – the year when spring water from Lourdes was declared Holy by the Catholic church after a 14-year-old girl saw the Virgin Mary in a vision there.

Absinthe is so strong that it was blamed for Van Gogh cutting off his own ear. It was banned in Britain by the Victorians and did not go back on sale until 1998.

Icecreamists owner Matt O’Connor, 45, hit the headlines last year when he began selling ice cream made from breast milk and he hopes the Vice Lolly will be equally controversial.

“Being born into a Catholic family I wanted to make a statement about religion,” said Mr O’Connor.

“I was looking at doing something that was a traditional children’s ice lolly, but I turned this idea on its head. I went from something quite innocent to the most radically provocative concept possible.

“I have a source in France that bought the holy water for me in plastic bottles. After it was shipped over I spent a lot of time tasting it with absinthe and sugar to get the taste and balance just right.

“It tastes alcoholic with a touch of sweetness. After about three of these the average drinker would certainly be feeling the effects.”

How Were Toilets and Toilet Paper Invented and When?

Life without flushing toilets simply doesn’t bear thinking about, does it?

Flushed with Success. Toilets have been discovered from nearly 5,000 years ago, but the world’s oldest flushing loos are the ones at the Minoan palace of Knossos on Crete, which are 4,000 years old. Ancient Minoan royalty sat on a wooden seat over a clay bowl, which was flushed with water flowing through pipes and into stone sewers.

3,600 years later, the UK’s first flushing toilet was invented by John Harrington, Queen Elizabeth’s godson. In 1597 he installed one in his godmother’s palace at Richmond. The Queen was pleased with it but banished Harrington from court for writing a rude essay about it.

Harrington’s toilet wasn’t commonly used until the late 1700s, when Alexander Cumming invented the ‘S’ bend. Cumming took out the first patent on a modern toilet, which was improved upon by Joseph Bramah in 1778.

The House of Lords in London still has an original Bramah loo, and it’s still being used.

On a Roll. Toilet paper has probably been used since the invention of paper. The earliest record of it is in 14th-century China.

The first paper to be made and sold exclusively for using in the loo was made by Joseph Gayetty and went on sale in the USA in 1857 as ‘Gayetty’s Medicated Paper’.

Before toilet paper people used all sorts of things, including moss, leaves, corncobs and shells.

Very rich people have used materials like wool and even lace. In 1391, the first toilet paper was used by a Chinese emperor, but how big were the sheets? The same size as today’s paper Big – equivalent to A4 paper Massive – 60 x 90 cm

What caused the smell during the ‘Great Stink’ in London in 1858? Untreated sewage in the street or pollution from factories entreated sewage in the Thames rat infestation

Before the invention of toilet paper:

Hawaiians used coconut shells
Eskimos used snow
Romans used their hands
Early Americans used corncobs

The world’s best barman?

this guy should serve us on Friday night…..

A Ukrainian has been dubbed the world’s best barman after his appearance on a TV talent show.

Alexander Shtifanov demonstrated his skills in a three minute performance on Ukraine’s Got Talent.

Spinning bottles and tumblers around his head, he even sends liquids flying into the air between containers.

Shtifanov concludes his display by juggling four bottles and pouring three drinks for the judges at once.

YouTube feedback was divided between those who found his performance “amazing” and “brilliant”, to one who commented: “Worst bartender ever… Getting a drink would take a freaking hour!”

Buddhist Monks Bet Nearly $1M During 13 Hour Drunken Poker Binge

we should get these guys over on Friday Night….

The scandal erupted just days before Koreans observe a national holiday to   celebrate the birth of Buddha, the holiest day of the religion’s calendar.

The head of the Jogye order, which has some 10 million followers, or about a   fifth of the population, made a public apology on Friday, vowing “self-repentance”.

South   Korean TV networks aired shots of monks playing poker, some smoking   and drinking, after gathering at a luxury lakeside hotel in late April for a   fellow monk’s memorial service.

Beautiful White Girl Fronts Japanese Rock Band, Is Actually a Swedish Boy

A TV program was featuring a beautiful young white girl with adorable curly blonde hair singing in fluent Japanese.

This in itself is nothing special: Japanese people love seeing foreigners who can speak their language, and variety shows here make stories out of them all the time. What dropped my jaw, though, is when I looked closer and realized that this beautiful young girl is actually a boy.

His name is YOHIO, a 16-year-old boy from Sweden who is now the lead guitarist and songwriter of the visual kei band Seremedy. For those unfamiliar with the Japanese subculture, visual kei refers to a type of heavy metal-esque rock music marked by the musician’s flamboyant and often androgynous use of make-up, hairstyles and costumes while on stage.

Queen lookalike sparks Shanghai surprise

Shanghai surprise /Rex

A Queen lookalike sparked a Shanghai surprise when thousands of Chinese passers-by mistook her for the real thing.

The fake sovereign was hired for a tea party to give the Chinese city a taste of the diamond jubilee celebrations, reports Metro.

Shoppers were served English afternoon tea with cucumber sandwiches and cakes and were serenaded by a Beatles tribute band.

But it was the unannounced arrival of Queen impersonator Elizabeth Richard that sent people into a frenzy.

The lookalike, who has played the Queen in music videos for Sir Elton John and Blur, had hundreds scrabbling for their cameraphones.

The tea party was staged in Shanghai’s Daning International Plaza by British Airways and the British Tourist Authority.

Mark Di-Toro, of VisitBritain, said: “The Chinese are enthusiastic about Britain’s heritage and culture anyway.

“We had anticipated that a few hundred would attend but thousands of people ended up congregating as word spread about the Queen.”
